Pop music scholars and aficionados widely consider The Kingston Trio to be the first mainstream folk music act in American music. When the trio broke out in the late 1950s, they transformed folk music from a marginalized subsect of traditional music to a hot and trendy radio staple. Their influence still reverberates today, in the enduring legacy of their own music, plus that of those they influenced such as Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger. At this 45th Anniversary Concert, the three men prove that age hasn't dampened their spirits or talents, as they perform a set of two dozen songs to an adoring crowd.
