Animated Classics Of Japanese Literature: The Harp Of Burma/Season Of The Sun

This collection contains two animated shorts based on novels by the celebrated Japanese authors Michio Takeyama and Ishihara Shintaro. The first, based on Takeyama's THE HARP OF BURMA, finds the friends of a WWII soldier missing and presumed dead at the end of the war trying to find out what happened. When a mysterious monk indicates he may hold the key to the mystery, the soldier's friends prepare themselves for the worst but instead find something they could have never imagined. SEASON OF THE SUN finds a boxer and his girlfriend struggling to make their relationship work in late 1940s Japan as they find that love may not keep them together.
