Director Sellars messes with the settings, but remains absolutely true to Mozart's music and to the musical standards of contemporary opera performance. Imagine Cherubino played not in the usual stiff powdered wig, but as a gawky teenage hockey player. Imagine "Don Gio Vanni" set in Harlem, "Cosi Fan Tutte" in a tacky seaside diner, and "Le Nozze Di Figaro" set in Trump Tower.
