Starring a young, dashing David Hemmings, who appears just one year before he set female hearts aflutter in Antonioni's BLOW UP, this film from director Lance Comfort is a wonderful slice of 1960s nostalgia. The plot revolves around a decrepit seaside hotel that a family has inherited. Business is slow, but when their son Dave (Hemmings) begins using the hotel to stage rock shows, things pick up, and the business starts booming, as plenty of '60s rockers show up to play there. Roles for Small Faces star Steve Marriott and rock legend Jerry Lee Lewis should help find the movie a belated audience among rock fans, while Hemmings delivers a reliably dreamy performance throughout.
