A true story based on the life of author Sonny Carson, a young black boy from the ghetto who struggles to overcome the crime and decadence of Brooklyn's inner city. The film chronicles Sonny's life through his years as an honor student in junior high school, his jail sentence for scamming a delivery boy out of money, and his life-changing experience after being released from prison.
