A gunfighter who retired to become the town sheriff is thought to be a coward by his son. Though he tries to inform his son that a gunfighter's life is a dead-end, the son remains violent and rebellious. When his disagreement with his father reaches a head, the son kidnaps a young girl, forcing his father to come looking for him.
