Off The Hook (Ws)

Based on the true story of two South Bronx rappers, OFF THE HOOK stars Jamal Mackey as Lorenzo Lewis, the volatile troubled half of the rap duo Pos-Neg. The other half is Walter Velasquez, an upstanding young man working his way to a college degree and trying to stay out of trouble. As Walter tries to set himself on towards opportunity while promoting Pos-Neg, he continually finds Lorenzo spiralling towards self-destruction as he deals drugs, gets into senseless fights, and struggles with a crack-addled mother. However, when Walter begins to work for a community organizer who promotes music on the side, he hopes that Lorenzo can get himself together enough for Pos-Neg to have a chance.
