In the fifth series of PBS' heralded mystery series, Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison (Helen Mirren) has been demoted and is now working up north. Eventually, she gets a chance to shine once again when a 12-year-old boy confesses to a brutal murder. Mirren completely embodies her character, adding a reality that most television lacks.
