This version of Giacomo Puccini's LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST was first brought to the stage in 1991, and is shot here with acclaimed star Placido Domingo in the lead role. Domingo first made the role his own in 1974, so was well prepared by the time this production came around. Leonard Slatkin assumes conducting duties throughout, while Domingo is joined by Barbara Daniels who delivers an impressive performance as Minnie.
