Suddenly finding themselves in outer space, Rick rescues Minmei and flies into an usused section of the SDF-1. Roy Fokker helps transport the surviving citizens of Macross Island into the SDF-1 before they die of exposure. Rick and Minmei grow close as they struggle to survive in the deserted bowels of the massive space ship.
