Newlyweds Rosemary and Guy want to start a family, as soon as Guy's acting career starts to take off. After they move into an old brownstone and make friends with their elderly neighbors, Guy lands an important role and Rosemary becomes pregnant. But her neighbors are a bit too intrusive, her doctor prescribes an odd concoction for her to drink, and Rosemary dreams she was raped by a strange beast. Guy seems to be spending too much time at the neighbors' apartment, whom Rosemary is convinced are witches. Is she insane for starting to believe she's carrying Satan's child?
