The animated detective dog and his teen sidekicks appear in three cartoon collections, "Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders," "Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost," and "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island." The character first appeared in 1969 in an animated Hanna-Barbera television series, voiced by the legendary Don Messick, who also spoke for the cartoon canines Astro of THE JETSONS and Bandit of JONNY QUEST, as well as Boo-Boo the bear on YOGI BEAR and many others. The enduring animated TV show proved so popular that it was eventually adapted into a series of live-action movies for children.
