Based on the Arctic Monkeys song "When the Sun Goes Down," SCUMMY MAN is a two-part film-short that dramatizes the plight of society's castaways through the tragic story of a teenage prostitute (Lauren Socha) and her "scummy man" pimp (Stephen Graham, SNATCH). Filmed in the industrial town of Sheffield, England, this gritty social commentary on the urban poverty and despair of Tony Blair's Britain was written and directed by screenwriter Paul Fraser (TWENTYFOURSEVEN, A ROOM FOR ROMEO BRASS) and stunningly shot on super-16mm film by cinematographer Danny Cohen (DEAD MAN'S SHOES).
