This delightfully freewheeling animated musical explores the adventures of Archy (Eddie Bracken), a philosophical cockroach who writes poetry, and a seductive, free-spirited cat named Mehitabel, memorably voiced by Carol Channing. Arcy adores the blonde, hip-swaying Mehitabel, but she prefers her alley cats, including hambone theater cat Tyrone T. Tattersall (John Carradine) and the gruff tomcat Big Bill (The Flintstones' Alan Reed). The more serious Archy tries to rescue Mehitabel from her wild lifestyle, but to no avail!

Based on the popular characters created by newspaper columnist Don Marquis, this award-winning 1971 film ambitiously blends an amazing range of animated styles from sixties pop art and kaleidoscopic effects to an eye-popping sequence by "Krazy Kat" comic strip creator George Herriman.
