The Attractive One

Hong Kong writer-director Matt Chow fashions a charmingly goofy tale of unexpected love between two oddball outsiders in his frothy romantic comedy THE ATTRACTIVE ONE. Hugo (Ching Wan Lau, RUNNING OUT OF TIME) is a gruff restaurant owner whose large facial birthmark has dampened his social skills. Yammie (Cantonese pop star Joey Yung) is a shy dog groomer with a hormonal imbalance that causes her to sprout a moustache. When the two meet and bond over their shared deformities, Yammie enlists Hugo's help in tracking down her childhood sweetheart, Tim (Spirit Blue). But Yammie soon discovers that true love may be closer than she thinks in this quirky pop confection of self-acceptance and second chances.
