The classic Chinese folklore of the Butterfly Lovers - Lian Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai - gets a moving and heartwarming rendition similar to Disney's Mulan in this delightful full length animated feature! Back in the Jin Dynasty, when only males were allowed to attend school, Zhu, a spirited young woman, disguises herself as a boy to be educated. She meets Liang and falls in love, but before she can tell him her true identity. Zhu's parents arranged to have her marry the son of a local merchant. She must now decide whether to succumb to the family tradition or risk it all to be with her true love
