Based on Rumiko Takahashi's (RANMA 1/2) popular weekly comic strip, URUSEI YATSURA was one of Japan's most popular television shows during its run from 1981 to 1986, which produced 195 episodes of the show. The series followed the misadventures of Lum, a beautiful bikini-clad alien girl with horns under her green hair, and her misguided love for the skirt-chasing buffoon Arturo. Drawing from science fiction, Japanese mythology, and high-school hijinks, URUSEI YATSURA consistently produced zany premises and riotous action that involved everything from cute girls with enormous guns, magical earmuffs, giant ghost cats, a test-cheating machine, parallel universes, and plenty of scenes in bathhouses. In these episodes Kitsune, the shape-shifting fox (his metamorphoses never fool anyone!) continues his amorous pursuit of Shinobu, the wide-eyed school-girl who occasionally goes into berserker rages; a boy wanders out of the jungle and falls for Lum; and Lum's archenemy Ran uses a robot to take control of Arturo's mind and body.
