This collection of contemporary classical numbers is designed to show off the versatile vocal talents of Dawn Upshaw. Upshaw has performed all over the world, and won glowing praise from fans and critics for her incredible range, and fascinating choice of music to interpret. One of her favorite composers is John Harbison, and she performs a number of his works here. Also included are highly evocative renditions of pieces by George Crumb and Kaija Saariaho, alongside many others.
