Though lighter in subject than some of his previous efforts, YESTERDAY ONCE MORE provides the level of entertainment and laughs one expects from a Johnny To film. Having exhibited a natural chemistry in NEEDING YOU, and LOVE ON A DIET, Sammi Cheng and Andy Lau pair up once again as a pair of kleptomaniac lovers who part ways when they learn that in order to sustain a relationship, people must share more than an addiction to stealing. The film finds Sammi and Andy crossing paths years later as Sammi is about to marry another man. Both are in a search of a valuable necklace, causing Sammi and Andy to realize they still have a lot in common. But can two thieves consumed by greed ever experience true, selfless love?
